Ashneer Grover defends himself after Salman Khan schools him on BB 18

After apologising to Salman Khan on Bigg Boss 18, former BharatPe co-founder Ashneer Grover defended his stance. Posting a photo with Khan, Grover wrote that the Weekend Ka Vaar episode must have fetched “great viewership”. For the unversed, the Bajrangi Bhaijaan actor questioned Grover regarding his comment about him on a podcast. It pertained to an old brand ambassador agreement established between Khan and Grover’s former company.
Ashneer Grover’s X post began with the words, “I hope you enjoyed the Bigg Boss weekend ka vaar ! I had good fun. And I am sure the particular episode got great TRP / viewership. BTW all of statements below are true (sic).”
He then laid down a few pointers, praising Khan. It read, “Salman is a great host & actor. Salman knows what works on Bigg Boss. I’ve always praised Salman for his sense of self and business – not a single thing demeaning said for him ever (sic).”
The entrepreneur continued, “My deal numbers are always correct (bank / auditor verified). Met Salman in an exclusive meeting on the brand collab for 3 hours in May 2019 in JW Marriott Juhu – along with the director of ad (it’s ok if he doesn’t remember me – I was not a public figure then – he meets tons of people) The invite for coming as guest on Bigg Boss was not ‘unnamed’ – just like the cheque for the same (sic).”
For the unversed, Salman Khan was brought on board as the face of BharatPe in 2019, while Ashneer Grover was still leading the company. However, in a podcast last year, Grover revealed that he had negotiated Salman’s fee down from Rs 7.5 crore to Rs 4.5 crore, comparing the process to bargaining for vegetables in a market. He also said that Salman’s team denied him a photo with the actor.
He then wrote about a photo he shared with the superstar, “And finally I’ve a pic with him – which I didn’t earlier”, and concluded with, “Thanks @BeingSalmanKhan Keep rocking! (sic).”
Here is the post:
In the Weekend Ka Vaar episode on November 17, Khan confronted Grover about his remarks regarding BharatPe’s team allegedly approaching him to be the brand ambassador. The Dabangg actor clarified that he never had a private meeting with Grover and only became aware of his name through the Bigg Boss team.
Salman said, “I came across a video of yours in which you were seen making some claims and shooting some figures that you signed me by giving a certain amount; all of that is not true. And it is wrong to create such a false impression.”
When Grover tried to explain his comments that he made on the podcast, the actor added, “The way you’re talking to me now, this was not your attitude when you were speaking about me in the video clip of yours.” Grover apologised further, saying, “Sorry sir, if that is what you feel. That was not my intention.”
Bigg Boss 18 airs on Colors TV and also streams on JioCinema app.
